"Leva Portal"

This medieval portal is located in a small inner courtyard of the De Leva Palace, an ancient noble residence situated in the lower part of Modica. Originally, it belonged to a religious building; it is believed to have been the entrance to a small church dedicated to Saints Philip and James. This is suggested by the presence of a small circular opening above the portal, likely intended to accommodate a rose window, a decorative feature typical of churches.
