The atmosphere
The Fornace Penna, known as the Pisciotto furnace, is an impressive testimony of industrial archaeology overlooking the sea, near Sampieri. Built between 1909 and 1912 and destroyed by fire in 1924, today it is a striking ruin, dominated by a high chimney and a structure reminiscent of a basilica. A place full of charm, also made famous as the "Mannara" of Montalbano.
